The 'IKEA family' is a unique marketing rhetoric utilized by the Swedish flat-pack furniture powerhouse, IKEA. In line with the company's global vision to ''"create a better everyday life for the many people"'', this noble sentiment is primarily situated within the locale of the individual abode. Part of IKEA's renown success is owed to the way in which it promotes stores as a kind of 'family friendly' excursion. Not only does is this reflected in the company's marketing scheme, but also in the way the majority of stores are designed and the facilities they provide to accommodate frequent and voluminous family visitation. ==Rhetoric Explained== From a cultural studies perspective, the node of 'identity' in the Circuit of culture can be used to question where individuals begin to conduct ideological and cultural analyses of themselves, asking how texts enable people to think of themselves in particular ways. Customers are incited to identify themselves as part of a 'family' through the way in which stores construct the overall shopping experience for the average customer. Each of the 300+ stores in 27 countries is staffed by front-of-store greeter to welcome visitors upon their arrival, hospitably directing them (if need be) to restaurant/café for a homely meal. For parents, a free child-minding service is offered at most stores ease the burden of furniture shopping with minors. Along with the considerate provision of an assortment of shopping tools (bags, trolleys, pencils and paper) to assist customers along their travels, IKEA seeks to present itself as welcoming and amenable in practical ways that complement its "IKEA family" perk scheme. It is very clear that IKEA’s conception of ‘family’ is founded on a very strong attachment to one’s home, being the centre of togetherness and wellbeing. Whilst its showrooms designed with the intention of position customers within reach of 'ideal' domestic life, it is important to note that (above all else) this is a notion that does not discriminate, allowing people to conceive their own notions of the ''‘ideal’'' family situated in the ''‘ideal’'' home. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「IKEA family」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
